Pet Food Manufacturing Facility

  1. Rebuilt product unloading system
  2. Demolition of equipment and structural reinforcements
  3. Fabricated and installed bucket elevator
  4. Fabricated and installed turnheads and spouting
  5. Installed three new conveyors
  6. Fabricated and installed structural steel and platforms
     Rebuilt product unloading system
    1. Removed a 75' long 14”enmasse conveyor, a 9'x9'x6' unloading hopper, and a 4'x6' shaker from the existing unloading system in the basement.
    2. Fabricated and installed a ¼” plate unloading hopper with a sloped outlet to accept an incline conveyor. Installed 1 – 50' long x 20” wide inclined enmasse conveyor, and 1 – 25' long x 24” wide en mass conveyor from the unloading hopper to the unloading bucket elevator. Installed a 5' x 8' shaker between the 2 en mass conveyors. Install a spout magnet at the inlet spout of the bucket elevator.
    3. Fabricated and installed spouting and transitions from the unloading hopper to the enmasse conveyor, from the enmass conveyor to the shaker, from the shaker to the second enamsse conveyor and from the second enmasse to the bucket elevator.
    4. Fabricated and installed OSHA approved platforms with handrails to service the new equipment
    5. Install dust collection system for the new equipment
    6. This project was over a 9 day shutdown period

     Demolition of old process equipment and structural reinforcements

    1. Removed and existing bucket elevator 185' tall, an exsisting turnhead with 90' of spouting, 2 screw conveyors and related structural and service platforms. This required a 200 ton crane with 300' of boom.

     Fabricated and installed bucket elevator.

    1. Fabricated and installed a stainless steel bucket elevator complete with 36” round head and boot sections, motor, drive, belt, and buckets 197' tall. Fabricated and installed all structural support from the mill building for the new bucket elevator. This project required a 200 ton crane with 300' of boom.

     Fabricated and installed turnheads and spouting

    1. Fabricated and installed 1 - 10 point stainless steel turnhead and 1 - 6 point stainless steel tunrhead with 240' of 10 gage stainless steel spouting and fittings to the 16 existing bins.

     Installed three new conveyors

    1. Installed 3 - 15' long x 20” wide stainless steel enmasse conveyors from the bucket elevator to both turnheads. Fabricated and installed 10 gage stainless steel spouting and transitions from the conveyors to the turnheads. Installed dust collection systems with stainless steel duct work and transitions for the 3 conveyors.

     Fabricated and installed structural steel and platforms

    1. Fabricated and installed 1 OSHA approved safety caged ladder approximately 100' tall with 3 safety landings to reach the top of the mill from the lower roof
    2. Install 3 levels of structural steel and OSHA approved galvanized service platforms fomr the 157' level to the 185' level on top of the mill building.
